Roberto D. Caballero was
born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He attended Loyola University New
Orleans where he attained a B.A. in Political Science (1999) and
received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University
School of Law (2002). Mr. Caballero has practiced Immigration &
Nationality Law since obtaining his license. He devotes his practice to
corporate and business matters relating to temporary work visas,
employment-based immigration, naturalization and consular processing.
Mr. Caballero is fluent in Spanish and travels on a regular basis to
Mexico to assist clients in obtaining visas at U.S. Consulates.
Mr. Caballero is a member
of the State Bar of Texas, American Immigration Lawyers Association
(“AILA”), Texas Young Lawyers Association, American Bar Association,
Mexican American Bar Association, U.S.-Mexico Bar Association and the
Hispanic Bar Association of Houston.
Mr. Caballero is currently
serving in his second term as Chair of AILA’s Gay/Lesbian Interest Group
and LGBT Immigration Issues Working Group; the latter focuses on
legislative and regulatory issues concerning HIV Waivers and the Uniting
American Families Act (“UAFA”). He also served two years on the Board of
Directors for Pride Houston, and is currently on the Board of Directors
for Equality Texas.
