Cynthia M. Renteria was born and
raised in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. In 1998 she earned her
bachelors degree in political science from Our Lady of the Lake
University. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s
University in 2003.
Ms. Renteria has been licensed to
practice law in Texas since 2003. She is also licensed to practice in
the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. She
is a member of the Hidalgo County Bar Association, Hidalgo County
Women’s Law Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and American
Immigration Lawyers Association.
Ms. Renteria litigates cases before
the immigration courts located in Harlingen, Raymondville and Port
Isabel, Texas. She has experience handling VAWA and Asylum cases in
addition to family based visa petitions. Ms. Renteria also handles
employment based visas and assists in consular processing. Ms. Renteria
is fluent in Spanish.
